TULIPS

Here in Astoria we enjoy living in a beautiful, luscious environment. One that is full of green trees and grass, while others pay out the nose for lawns as thick and well watered as the one at my house. Downside: It's mid April and we have seen maybe 5 days of sun total, since about the beginning of November... Today however was one of those rare days that reminds us that spring does exist, if not for a fleeting moment.  I took advantage of the dry and sunny weather to take a few photos in our backyard, proof of spring! These tulips were purchased in a huge bulb package at Costco last fall, and have finally begun to bloom! Enjoy!

I am in love with the Design*Sponge blog because they have such adorable and fun DIY projects! I particularly LOVED the one I came across the other day, an easy way to turn a vintage suitcase into a small table! I just had to share this great project that you could easily accomplish in an afternoon! ENJOY!

PS: Still working on my fleece blankets, being frustrated by them, considering alternate ideas. And still working on pillows, it has just been a busy week at school. Thanks for the patience! -Melissa
